St. Johns River Part 2
This photo shows the St. Johns River meandering through its 141 nautical miles flowing NORTH.
As mentioned in the previous post, I am preparing for returning to live ON the St. Johns River in a monohull sailboat from 36 to 40 feet in length.
I wrote this book under my pen name MR Valentine several years ago describing how to purchase a sailboat as a long time landlubber! At that time I thought I would be purchasing a catamaran like the Gunboat on the cover of my book. However after watching a video comparing the monohull to the catamaran, I realized I would rather have a monohull.
Why?
The narrator of the video stated that passing over waves on a catamaran can sound like the constant shooting of a 12 gauge shotgun!
Also in my recent studying of sailboats for sale, I found that used catamarans of comparable size to monohulls were way more expensive!
Of course, before I purchase I plan to try out the sailboat and I will do it both with a monohull and catamaran.
More in next post!
