In this post we discuss the CROSSING SITUATION or Rule 15 of the International Rules of the Road.

Again this only applies to POWER driven vessels and not sailboats. Also only two boats are involved.

When these two power driven boats are crossing and could lead to collision, the vessel that has the other one to her STARBOARD side shall keep out of the way including not crossing at all!

As you can see I even marked the vessel sides for PORT and STARBOARD as to make sure I understood the importance of following this Rule 15.

Also it applies even if the give-away vessel is NOT underway.
