Another important area of the International Rules of the Road has to do with the order of who has the RIGHTS OF WAY.

I learned of a way remember this as you will see below. As you will note the first letter of the order creates an acronym as: New Reels Catch Fish So Purchase Some!

Of course that has to always be exception.

This order doesn’t apply when one is involved with a NARROW CHANNEL, TRAFFIC SEPARATION SCHEME or OVERTAKING!

Finally if you are operating a POWER DRIVEN vessel you are REQUIRED to stay out of the way of any of vessels except seaplanes and any vessel overtaking you!
