Continuing with SAILING vessels we find that ones of less than 7 meters should attempt to have sidelights, masthead light and stern light. If that is not possible then the vessel’s captain should have a BRIGHT STRONG WHITE handheld light that can be seen clearly to avoid a potential collision!
Same applies to a boat under OARS.
If a sailing vessel is being propelled by an engine then it must exhibit what you see below, which is an upside down conical BLACK DAYSHAPE.
