Buying The BOAT! Part 2
Actually BEFORE buying the boat I would suggest RENTING one FIRST! You might find that you are not cut out to live on the water the majority of your life.
For instance, you may find you become seasick with even the gentlest wave rocking the boat. Of course this could be temporary and by RENTING the boat for at least a week you will find out what is going to be your reality.
You might also discover that the boat is too small but is the only size you can afford even if it is used. People, who have lived in land based homes, are usually surprised at how much STUFF they can no longer have on the boat.
In my case I’m a single unattached dude, who has always been able to downsize with ease. I am planning only on one suitcase, one gun case, one archery case, two bug-out backpacks, my Global Sunoven® and a guitar case for my 36 foot sailboat. I will buy galley and head items at the local Goodwill to replace the current ones in my one bedroom apartment.
You might discover that especially sailing on the Seven Seas is not as glamouresss as you thought. When I wrote the book above over 10,000 Americans were Sea Gypsy Live-Aboards™!
With the Grand Solar Minimum fast approaching that number will likely skyrocket. The WHITE area you see in this rendering was SOLID ICE during the last Grand Solar Minimum! It created a Mini Ice Age! This one will most likely not create solid ice but still Arctic freezing temperatures for up to 35 YEARS!
